PENWOMEN'S PARTY.
A most enjoyable afternoon was given by the members of the League of Penwomen yesterday at the rooms in Anzac Avenue, in honour of Mrs. Dunningbam. convener of the house committee, and Mrs. John Barr, librarian, who are retiring from office. Mi's. M. Stuart-Boyd, president, thanked Mrs. Dunningbam and Mrs. Barr for their great assistance in numerous branches of the league work and on behalf of the members presented each with an engraved fountain pen. Several items were given during the afternoon by Miss Renee Satchwell, Miss Edna Craig, Mrs. JTello-Porter and Miss Joyce Porter. Afternoon tea was served later, and the remainder of the time was spent in social intercourse. Among those present were Mrs. Stuart-Bovd, Mrs. Victor Mncky. Mrs. Cluett, Mrs. E. Schmitt T> Gladys Montgomerie. Dr. Mildred Sfaley, Alis. Harrison Smith, Miss Smith. Mrs. Ansell, Mrs. Richmond. Miss Ednnston, Dr. Gladys Rowley, Mrs. Jean Boswell, Mrs. Fletcher. Mrs. Brookes, Airs McLean, Mrs Vigers, the Misses Melville (X), Mrs. Peacock, Miss Flemminc. M'.ss Edei-Jones, Miss Bertram - Mrs. Tweedie, Mrs. F. J. Hutchinson. Mrs. Brian Dunningham, Mrs. Burr. Mrs. Woolcott, Miss Peacock, Mrs. B. Gardner, Mrs. Reid (Whangarei), Mrs. Spinley and Mrs. Sydney Smith.
