Rowland's action, but 1 think this is one of tho times wo should restrain our feelings.'-' In these words the Ross-on-Wye coroner. Sir. Wajlis, replied to comments passed by the foreman of a jury on the action of (ho Rev. William Rowlands when his assistance was sought far a dying man. The inquest was on a young motorcyclist who collided with a mail-van during tho gale and in the midst of lightning and hail. . The-driver of the van stated that when the accident occurred he rushed to Slarslow Vicarage, 15 yards away, but. the vicar, who went to the "door,, refused to lender any assistanec, saying lie WaS not dressed. 116 did not go near the scene of the accident until.aftci 4 an hour and and a half, when the lnan'was dead. The next-nearest house was 600 yards away. In returning a verdict of accidental death, the foreman of the jury'said they desired to add a rider that they considered tho action of tho clergyman was anything but creditable. " lie surely could have rendered assist,aneo of some kind at such a time." Ho was sorl'y to have to say this, but it was a unanimous verdict.
