RAID ON POLICEMEN.
DRINKING IN NEW YORK.
CAUGHT IN RESTAURANT,
NEW YORK, Nov. 28
The funniest " speakeasy" raid in New York occurred to-night whon a score of regular city policemen were caught redhanded by Federal prohibition officials. Flanagan's is a restaurant in Grand Street known £is "police headquarters." The annexe to the. house presentod its usual' convivial appearance after dark, with police captains, lieutenants and several leading patrolmen eating sauerkraut, while beer was passed over the bar. There was nothing to indicate that the friendly calm of Flanagan's, which for 20 years has been an oasis for guardians of the peace, was about to suffer from the laws of the American constitution. Later Flanagan "and George Haller, his associate, were remanded on £IOOO bail. Two Government men were posted at the door, and sternly told the. chagrined police officials that the cafe was temporarily closed. (
