INQUIRY INTO DISPUTE.
ARCHBISHOP AVERILL TO ACT.

HAMILTON. Friday. /. /• After protracted- negotiations a document has been signed by Bishop Cherrington and Dean Barnett, in ' which they agree to" Archbishop Averill atppointing a commission to inquire into the question, raised by the bishop, as to the suitability of Dean Barnett to retain his present, position as dean o£ Hamilton. The commission will consist of Archbishop Averill and two Auckland assessors, a clergyman and a layman, to be appointed by the archbishop. Evidence, which will be heard in private, will be takerj; in Hamilton. It is expected that the result of this agreement the interim injiinction of the Supreme Court, which has been in force since last February, restraining the bishop from taking other action against the dean, will be withdrawn.
