ACTIVITY IN CHRISTCHURCH.
SERIES OF TRANSACTIONS.
[BY TELEGRAPH. OWN CORRESPONDENT.} CHRtSTCHURCH, Fsiday. Remarkable activity is in evidence ai present in hotel property, and many wellknown houses are changing hands. In some cases this involves the freehold, while in <ither instances licensees are - being changed. Following the announcement yesterday of the purchase of Warner's Hotel, Cathedral Square, by a syndicate for £BO,OOO, it is ascertained to-day that the Royal Hotel, Oxford Terrace, has changed hands at a price of over £25,000. The freehold of the Papanui Hotel has been sold for about £20,000, while the Wharf Hotel, Woolston, and the Royal Hotel, Woodend, have also been sold. Other hotels which are stated to have changed hands or to be the subject of negotiations are the Canterbury Hotel, Lyttelton, and the Culverden Hotel.
