WOMEN'S LUNCHEON CLUB.

The annual meeting of the Auckland Women's Luncheon Club was held at tho Y.W.C.A. Hostel, Miss Bentharn presiding. Officers elected for the coming year were s—President, Mrs. Alan Mulgan; vice-presidents, Miss Bentharn, Mrs. Kenner; secretary, Mrs. K. H. O'Halloran; treasurer, Mrs. J. Howie; committee, Mesdames Cable, Hartle, Dr. M. Champ* taloup, Misses Begg. Booth, Bwyin, Hayden, Parker and Walker. Mrs. Aing, Mrs. Webster, Miss Walker and Miss Hayden are the club's musicians. A social evening for members £nd their friends was held on Wednesday at the Y.W.C.A. The guests were received by Mrs. Ivenner and Miss Bentharn. A vfcry enjoyable programme, arranged by Mrs. Cable, Mrs. Howie and Mrs. O'Halloran, included songs by Mrs. King, Miss Walker and Mrs. Webster, accompanied by Miss Hayden, with violin obligate by Miss Cooper-Smith; elocutionary items by Mrs. Bagrie and Messrs. Ewan and Pritchard, and a Dickens sketch, "Sam Weller Writes a Valentine," by Mrs. Kenneth Gordon. Mis. Victor Mackie gave an outline of the study of graphology and a one-act play, "Millie and the Milliner," was presented, under the direction of Mrs. Murdoch, by the Misses Kirkwood, Miss Smith and Mr. R. Jones. Miss Bentharn welcomed and introduced the new president, Mrs. Mulgan. The singing of "Auld Lang Syne" and the National Anthem brought a very enjoyable evening to a close.
