BRITISH GENEROSITY.
EX-ENEMY PROPERTY.
CONSIDERABLE CONCESSIONS. British Wireless. RUGBY, Nov. 22. In the course of tho statement made in the House of Commons by tho Charfcellor of tho Exchequer, Mr. Philip Snowden, about the liquidation of ex-enemy property, he said Britain had been more, not less, generous to the original owners of ex-enemy property than the other creditor countries. The common undertaking shared by Britain, was only to cease liquidation and release unliquidated properties. The British Covemment, however, had not only made compassionate allowances amounting to £5,000,000 to individuals, but had offered to waive claims to properties as yet unliquidated worth £5,000.000. More could not bo dono in justice to the British taxpayers and this was equivalent to the abandonment, as far as possible, of the relevant provision of the treaty.
