FAMOUS EXPLORER.
LIFE OF CAPTAIN SCOTT.
LAST LETTER TO HIS WIFE.
LONDON, Nov. 22
A hitherto unpublished letter from the late Captain Scott addressed to his widow is included in a work on the life of the explorer by Stephen Gwynn, just published.
The letter was written when Scott was awaiting death. It said: " If anything happens to me I should like you to know how much you have meant to me and what a pleasant recollection is with me as I depart. I want you to take the whole thing sensibly, as I am sure you will.
" Tho boy will be your comfort. You know I cherish xio sentimental rubbish about remarriage. When tho right man comes to help you in your life you ought to bo your own happy self again." The explorer's widow is now Lady Hilton Young.
