COMBINED RACES TO-DAY. The season on the Manukau will bo opened to-day, when the Manukau Yacht and Motor-Boat Club and the Manukau Cruising Club will hold combined races for yachts and launches. The yachts will start at 2.30 p.m., and the launches at 2.45 p.m. The course for the yachts is as follows: —Start between clubhouse and mark buoy moored west, theneo between black buoy and Mangere beacon, thence round sixth red buoy (first, buoy below Sailors Well), no gybing at this mark; thence round mark * buoy off clubhouse, thence round black buoy off Mangere Beacon, thence round sixth red buoy, no gybing at this mark: theneo between Mangere beacon and black buoy, finish between clubhouse and mark' moored west, all turning marks to bo kept on starboard side except sixth red buoy and black buoy on last time up. The last-named mark must, be kept on port side. The course for the launches is as follows:—Start between clubhouse and mark , moored west, thence round Dolphin off wharf, thence round fifth red buoy, thence round dolphin off wharf again, , round fifth red buov and theneo round dolphin off wharf, finishing between clubhouse and mark buoy moored west; al turning marks to be kept on starboard side except, Dolphin off wharf ori last time up, this mark to be kept on port side. The annual meeting and presentation of prizes of the Tauranga Yacht and Power Boat Club was held last evening, the commodore. Mr. A. J. Mirrilees. presiding. The chairman said lie looked • forward to motor racing being included , on the club's programme in the near future. He paid a special tribute to the , voung members of the club.
