FLYING ON SUNDAYS.
MAGISTRATE FINES AIRMAN.
PASSENGERS TAKEN ALOFT. [by telegraph.—own correspondent.] NEW PLYMOUTH. Tuo ß day. A sequel to complaints by Eltham ministers concerning aviation on Sundays was heard in tho Eltham Police Court to-day before Mr. R. W. Tate, S.M., when charges were laid against Captain MacGregor, of Hamilton, and his mechanic, Eric Cruickshank. MacGregor was charged that, in view of a public place, he worked at his calling on Sunday. Cruickshank was charged with aicjing and abetting. Constable Townsend said ho interviewed MacGregor and told" him that passengercarrying flights on Sunday were illegal. The airman then stated that he was prepared to take the consequences. The magistrate convicted MacGregor, who was fined £1 and costs, 10s. Cruickshank was fined tho same amount.
