CHARGES FOR WATER.
MOUNT ALBERT DISCUSSION. LOOKING FOR NEW SOURCE. "To my mind tho cost of Is 3d a thousand gallons for water is exorbitant," said Mr. J. H. Langloy, at a meeting of tho Mount Albert Borough Council last evening. "Tho City Council is dependent on the clouds for its supply, while Onehunga has a spring second to none, I believe, and tho analyst gives a better analysis of its water. I hope that we shall got all tho data possible on the question of connecting Mount Albert with the Onehunga Borough 6upply." "I do not see why wo could not put in a chlorinating plant and use our own water, if Onehunga could not supply us ail tho year round," said Mr. 11. Kayes. On the motion of tho Mayor, Mr. L. E. Rhodes, the matter was> referred to the joint committee for investigation and report. The council's previous decision in connection with tho Auckland City Council's charges'- for water supplied was rescinded, and it was decided to pay at tho rate of Is 3d a thousand gallons for water supplied as from October 1.
