PRODUCE AT DUNEDIN. • WHEAT PRICES UNCHANGED. [ns telegraph. —own correspondent.] DUNEDIN, Saturday. There is a limited demand for choice lines of milling wheat, but so far as this district is concerned there is practically none of this quality available, and requirements liavo to bo drawn from Canterbury. Prices remain unchanged at, 5s 9d for Tuscan, sacks oxtra, country sidings, 6s for Hunters, and 6s 6d for Velvet. The wheat crops in the South Island have been backward on account of tho rainy spring, and now they aro being affected by a lack of moisture. In some districts, indeed, rain is badly wanted. The heavy rains during tho winter thoroughly- soaked tho soil, and now tho dry weather is causing tho surface to become hard. Tho weather is having n tendency to firm tho market, as if it continues unsuitable tho yields from, crops will be affected. Fowl wheat, is meeting with a good demand locally, and stocks aro getting into short compass. Up to 6s Id a bushel, sacks extra, ox store, is now obtainable for best quality. * The oats market continues quiet, and little business is passing. Some operators aro now quoting for. spread delivery next season, and A's aro on tho market at 3s 6d, f.0.b., s.i., for April to September Quotations for existing stocks are 3s 7£d, f.o.b. S.i,, for A's and 3s 6£d for B's. These prices aro equivalent to 3s Id to 3s, sacks extra, on trucks, country sidings Consignments of chaff aro arriving sparingly, as farmers aro now busy with other work. The demand, however, is quiet, and there aro ample stocks in the stores to meet tho demand. Prices remain unchanged.
