DIVIDEND OF 8 PER CENT.

OUTPUT OF MINE INCREASED. Tho annual report of the Grey Valley Collieries, Limited, shows that after providing for all charges, a credit balance of £5520 is loft, from which a final dividend of 6 per cent., making a total of 8 per cent, for the year, will bo distributed.

The balance transferred from the profit and loss account to tho appropriation account is £20,358 Is lOd, which, together with tho credit balance of £272 3s 7d brought forward from the previous year, makes a total of £20,630 5s sd. Hie directors have made pi'oper allowances for depreciation and taxation, < and theso charges, with tho interim dividend of 3 per cent, paid in May, amount to £12,609 15s. A general reserve account has been established by transferring the sum of £2500. After providing for all tho foregoing ' charges, thoro is a credit balance of £5520 10s sd, from which tho directors recommend the payment of a final dividend of 5 por cent., amounting to £4998 15s, and leaving a balance of £521 15s 5d to be carried forward. . » The output has increased during the yes r from 550 tons to 700 tons a day, and the market for the coal produced has been maintained. Progress has been made in the development of tho company's colliery.
