PIGEON SHOOTING.
METROPOLITAN CLUB.
Tho Metropolitan Gun Club held a series of matches on its grounds at New Lynn on Saturday. The first match, a 15-birds event for a rosobowl presented by Mr. F. KayStratton, resulted as follows :-.C. E. Hodgo (18yds). and W. Turner (13yds), tho possible. In tho shoot-off Hodgo dropped his first bird, Turner getting his and winning tho trophy. Both these wero fine performances. Turner shot, all hiß birds with tho first barrel, and Hodge only used his Becond once. D. Stoupe (12yds) and E. N. Barratt (13yds), wore' runners-up with 14 each. Tho next shoot was a match between two teams drawn from shooters on the ground, 14 men being in a team and having 15 birdß each. Kesults were ns follows:—No. 1 team, 150; No. 2 team, 132.' In No. 3 sweep.of 7 birds each, AV. Hazard (13yds), won with 7; D. Stoupe/A. Brown, and A. Hannigan tying with C each for second. Teams from Hamilton, Morrinsville, Auckland and Metropolitan will shoot for tho Iteid Cup at Hamilton next Saturday. A practice will be held on Wednesday afternoon for tho purpose of making the fiual selection.
