The whippet racing season opened nt Wellington yesterday. Following was tho result: — Wellington Cup, of 130yd(<.—Mrs. F. H. Brewer's Tho Brewer (11yds), 1; Mrs. Barnes' Glenrossio (9yds), 2; Mrs. F, H. Brewer's Forty Winks (10yds), 3, Cimo. 8 l-sfl. The winner comes from Palmerston North.
