THE REFORM LEAGUE.

NEW JUNIOR BRANCH.

With tho object of forming a junior branch of tho Reform Lcaguo in Auckland a meeting of Reform supporters was held in tho Unity Hall on Saturday ovoning, at which the Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates and Mrs. Coates wero present. On arrival Mrs. Coates, who wore a frock of beige georgetto with a beigo fox fur and lacquer red felt hat, was preseuted with a basket of pastel-shaded stocks by Miss Ernest. On tho platform, besides Mr. and Mrs. Coates, wero Mrs. G. H. Wilson, Mr. E. H. Northcroft (chairman for tho evening) and Mr. A. E. Mander, Dominion secretary of tho Reform Party. Iho speakers for tho evening were Mr. Coates, who briefly outlined tho policy of his party, and Mr. Mander, whilo later an amusing debato on "Whether It Is In tho Interests of tho Community to Havo Women in Parliament" took place, Mcssrls. King and Turner speaking in tho affirmative and Messrs. Cronin and Corson taking tho negative. Among tho ladies in tho audience were:—Mrs./ G. 11. Wilson, Miss Ernest, Miss A. Basten, Mrs. Gould, Mrs. W. Ilussoll, Mrs. Northcroft, Dr. Buckley Turkington, Mis. Mcßride, Mrs. Milne Hovey, Mrs. U. Aicken, Miss Dash, Mrs. Hollingsworth, Mrs. Ilirst, Mrs. Luxford, Miss Luxford, Miss Savage, Mrs. F. Taylor, Miss A. Moss, Mrs. Waldow, Mrs. Ronnerson, Miss Kealy, Mrs. Routley.
