TRAMWAY FARES.
Sir, —While tho flat rate versus concession ticket controversy is raging a few outside facts may bo of interest. The Transport Board is alarmed at the increase of motors and states that these arc a cause for the falling revenue. If the tramway services are not speeded up and cheapened the motors will increase still more. Two of us run in from the suburbs in a small car and find it works out cheaper than using the trams with the present concession tickets, not lo mention tho time saved. What about getting some tips from tho Wellington management? In Buenos Aires the trams were being run at heavy lobs so the authorities borrowed the rnanacer o f a celebrated British company and in ono year the loss was wiped out and in two years they were running at a profit. Progress.
