FIFTY YEARS AGO.
Sir,—l am pleased to inform vou that I am ono of the passengers by the Jessio Headman, which arrived at Auckland on September 26, 1879. Captain Gibson was a man among men, but he has gone to his long home years ago. I here is anothei passenger living in Auckland. Matthew Patterson. It was very thoughtful of the writer of the first letter to make such inquiries about our gallant shipmates. Te Kopuru. James COCHRANE.
