GERMAN STEAMER AGROUND
BOUND FROM COLOMBO.

Australian and N.Z. Press Association. (Received September 23, 12.15 a.m.) COLOMBO, Sept. 22. The German steamer Hochst hound from Colombo to Europe is aground off Minicoy Island. It is reported that she is badly disabled. The tug Hercules has been sent to attempt. to refloat the merchantman. Minicoy Island is more than 400 miles from Colombo. It is a storm-swept spot in the path of the approaching north-east monsoon.
Tho Hochst is a steel screw steamer of 6854 tons owned by tho Hamburg America I/ine. Site was built at I 1 lensburg, in 1927. Her port, of registry is Hamburg.
