CARD AFTERNOON.

The members of the Onehunga Croquet Club wcro entertained at a bridge and five hundred afternoon by M l-9 - 8.. Buchanan, wife of the president of the Onehunga Bowling Club, at her homo in Quadrant Road, yesterday. To receive her guests Mrs. Buchanan wore a draped frock of black Chantilly lace over apricot chiffon. The card tables wero arranged in tho lounge and dining room, tho folding doors having been thrown open, and bowls of Iceland poppies and daffodils made artistic decorative effects On one table were also to be seen posies of violets and primroses surrounding taller vases of ilowers, and on leaving each gu£st was presented with one of these. Pnzes wero awarded for both bridge and five hundred, the former- being won by Mrs. 11. Bray and Mrs. J. Macklow, and the latter by Mrs. Ira Sutherland and Mrs. A. Brown.
