CONVERSAZIONE.
Tho staff of Messrs Winstone, Limited, was entertained by tho directors of the firm at an enjoyable conversazione held in Scots Hall last evening. On arrival the members of tho staff and their friends were received by Mr. and Mrs. G. Winstone, junr., and Mr. and Mrs If. G. Baskett. The small tables which had been arranged in tho hall were decorated with vases of spring flowers, and graceful palms in low red bowls placed in various corners also added an attractive note. While .the guests were arriving those already present were entertained with music from a panatrope, and later a short programme was given. Mr. G. Winstone, sent-., and Mr. G. Winstone, junr., made short speeches of welcome, and theso were replied to by Mr. England and Mr. Alexander on behalf of the employees.. Contributing to tho programme were Mr. Bellam and Mr. Phillips, who sang; Mr. A. MacElwain and Mr. Holdsworth, who gave humorous items; Mr. Keith Liddle, some conjuring; Mr. Galloway and Mr. Simpson, a humorous sketch. Topical numbers given by an instrumental trio, all of whom were members of tho staff, were also greatly appreciated. At the conclusion of tho programme Suppef was served and was followed by dancing. Among thoso who were present were:— Mrs. G. Winstone, junr., who was in a frock of leaf green georgette with ; a green chenille shawl; Mrs. F. G. Baskett, in black embroidered chiffon with an Oriental shawl; Mrs. Percy Winstone, black georgette with embroideries; Mrs. F. Winstone, black georgetto and lace; Miss Edith Winstone, jado green georgetto embroidered with silver beads.
