The Tauranjj* Hockey Association's competitions were continued this afternoon in fine weathor. The inon'a teams played two games for the Butlor Cup. Country and Truo Blues drew, 1 goal each. United and Rovors also drew, 1 goal each. Two games were played for tho Clark Buttons. United defeated Country by 1 goal to 0, and Rovers defeated Truo Blues by 2 to 0. In tho ladies' division, games in the Harris Cup _ competition resulted:—Rangataua beat Triers by 4 goals to 1, and Aretas defeated School by 3 to 1.

NORDEN CUP RETAINED.

Tho final representative men's hockey challenge gamo for the Norden Cup was played to-day in a downpour of raui, between Dannpvirke (holders) and Hastings. It resulted in an easy win for Dannevirke by 5 goals to 1. Dannevirko has held the cup since 19*27 and withstood nino challenges.

Announcement of tho New Zealand ladieß' hockey team to participate in the Empire tourney in South Africa has been deferred until October 2 on account of difficulty that lias arisen over the number of players to be sent. The New Zealand Jjadies' Hockey Association is now awaiting a reply to cablegrams sent to the South African authorities. It has been announced definitely that women officials only shall accompany the team.
