INSPECTION OF BRIGADES.
DOMINION-WIDE SERVICE
An inspection of the St. John Ambulance Brigade at Dargaville was mads last evening by Mr. F. J. Hutchinson, senior district superintendent, and Mr. A. W. Probert, district officer, who left«' Auckland by train yesterday morning. Inspections at Whangarei will be made this afternoon and this evening.
• Similar visits will bo made to Huntly, Hamilton and Taumarunui, between October 15 and 17, and tho division at Eotorua will jbe inspected on October 21. On tho following day the party will travel overland to Gisliorne, and aftor inspecting the division there on October 23, they will return to Auckland on October 24.
A district order showing the number of accidents attended by divisions of" the brigade throughout New Zealand on" a certain day. has been received in Auckland from tho chief commissioner, Colonel G. Barclay. The day chosen, Saturday, July 20, was stormy, and many sporting fixtures were abandoned, but "the figures are ahead of those for last- year. In Auckland 103 members attended at 48 places and treated 300 cases. The respective figures for Wellington were 84. 34 and 146; Wanganui, 42, 20, and 53; Canterbury, 45, 27 and 45; Otngo, 38, 14 and 54; and Invercargill, 3, 2 and 6. The total shows that 320 members were on duty at 145 places, and treated 604 cases.
