YOUNG FARM HAND SHOT.
ACCIDENT WITH PEA-RIFLE.
VAIN CRAWL FOR ASSISTANCE

A shooting fatality occurred near Huntervillo on Saturday afternoon, the victim being John Robb, aged 23, a farm hand, who accidentally shot himself with a pea-rifle when climbing a fence in search of rabbits. Robb was shockingly wounded, but he crawled back to the whare that he shared with Mr. Smith, the schoolmaster at Rataiti, but Mr. Smith was absent in Hunterville. He returned some hours later and found Robb, who was hurried to the hospital, but died yesterday morning.
