PRESENTATION OF PLAYS. Tho performance of three one-act plays by members of tho Dramatic Circlo of tho Lyceum Club took placo last evening before a largo and appreciative audienco. This constituted tho first evening's entertainment given by tho Dramatic Circlo since tho new rooms havo been in occupation, and the larger hrUl and slago were both fully appreciated by the audienco and players. Mrs. Scantlebury, convener of tho Dramatic Circlo, was the producer, and tho enthusiastic way in which the threo plays wero received last eveniispoko well for tho success of her efio:: Tho first presentation was a characto. sketch entitled "Widows," in which the Cockney accent was very predominant. Tho parts were well played by Miss Anita Webster, Mrs. Ilobday and Mrs. Howard. "Tho Young Idea," which was tho titlo of tho second play, dealt rather humorously with tho modern girl's idea of sentiment as compared with her mother's, and in this the part of the mother was taken by Miss Joy Hartley, Mrs. Estelle Verran being the modern daughter. The final plav, "Evening Dress Indispensable," was also excellently acted, the roles being taken by Mrs. Estelle Verran, Miss Marie Gaudin, .Miss Maida Hooker, Mr. Jack Gordon and Mr. Godfrey Kissling. In between the plays songs were sung by Mrs. Hobday and Mr. Jack Gordon.
