GOOD ROADS.
Sir, —My business activities take me over many roads, good roads, unsatisfactory roads, clay roads, impassable roads. Sometimes one does come across a good country road. Lately I have been over one, or, rather, miles of it, in the llaglan County, where thoso in authority have taken the bull by the horns and mado motor roads. In spite of all the rain there is not a pothole nor :i stone for miles and miles, and if I am rightly informed, the county has had no help from the Highways Board, and the farmers' rates have not increased enough to be a burden. On these roads the top is rough enough for tho tyre to grip, an excellent thing for motorists, and they stand up to heavy work. 1 saw cream lorries, weighing tons, and not a blemish on the road. I suggest to the Raglan County that it publish tho secret of how to make good motor roads, so that others may profit. Commercial Traveller.
