INCREASE IN PRODUCTION

The 21st annual report of the Iloki.inga Co-operative Dairy Company, Ltd., says that production has shown a marked advance, 827 tons of butter having been manufactured, as against 659 tons in the previous year, an increase of 168 tons The number of suppliers was 488. compared with 454 in the previous year. The quality of the product had shown further steadv improvement. Advance payments to suppliers totalled £103,143 18s Id, averaging 16.2028 d per lb. A further sum of £9229 17s Id would he available tor distribution in bonus and dividends. The cost of collection per lb. of butter-fat was 65d..

to suppliers at the factory door would ex ceed Is 6d per lb. for first grade. Witn the large increase in supply the company's plant had been taxed to the utmost Steps had been taken to substantially augment the plant to deal satisfactorily with future increases.

The Toatoa cheese factory has concluded a very satisfactory season, with an increase both in production and the quality of its products The monthly advance payments during, the season have been at the rate of Is 3d per lb. From 250 to 300 cows have been supplying the factory, which was able to commence its operations early in September and to continue until unusually late.
