FURTHER EARTHQUAKE SCENES

Another interesting series of photographs from tho earthquake-stricken areas of the South Island occupies prominent space in the issue of tho Auckland Weeklv News published to-day. Of special interest are scenes from Scddnnville, in the Buller district, which was swept by flood waters last week when the Mokihinui River broke through slips brought down by the earthquakes. Theso pictures illustrate vividly every phase of the disaster.

The value of the Dominion's military training system is strikingly exemplified by a collection of photographs of tile Auckland Grammar School Senior Cadet battalion on parade. Other New Zealand photographs include pictures of the Franz Josef Glacier,' the visit of the German cruiser Emdon and the Waikato Hunt Club's activities.

Overseas subjects include photographs of the recent visit of the Duke and Duchess of York to Edinburgh to open the General Assembly of tho Church of Scotland, large English yachts competing at tho Royal Harwich Regatta, New Zealand golfers in England, and studies of prominent South African representative cricketers now touring Britain.
