MANUREWA TOWN BOARD.
IMPROVING FOOTPATHS. The Manurcwa Town Board met ou Monday evening, the chairman, Mr. 0. Gallagher, presiding. Tho clerk reported that the Auckland Hospital Board's levy for the current year showed a decrease of £2O on last year's demand, the latest account being £476 3s 4(1. A deputation of residents of Marr Road asked that some improvement should be made in the condition of the footpaths, which were stated to be impassable in wet weather. The chairman said (he board had done its utmost for vehicular traffic and it was now his intention to concentrate on the footpaths of the district,. Ho agreed that tho footpath in Marr Road required immediate improvement and stated the question would receive further consideration when the estimates for the current year were being compiled. Mr. W. Forgusson urged the board to seek some improvement in the local postal delivery service, stating that residents of Mahia Road were served by only ono delivery daily, at about 2.30 p.m. It was decided to communicate with the local postmaster advising him that numerous complaints had been received and asking that an endeavour should be made to have the delivery completed by noon each day.
