TAXI STRIKES LORRY.

ACCIDENT IN BEACH ROAD.

As the result of a sudden skid on tho wet roadway, which was very treacherous after a shower of rain, a taxicab struck a heavy motor-lorry, owned by Transport and Storage, Ltd., general carriers, which was standing outsido their premises in Beach Road, lato last evening. Tho front of the taxi was wrecked, the mudguards, lamps and radiator suffering sovercly, while the front axlo was bent by the impact. Tho lorry was not damaged, the front of the taxi running under the projecting platform and striking the solid frame. The driver of the taxi escaped injury
