[BT TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] NAPIER, Thursday.

A deputation from the Hawke's Bay County Council this morning made representations to the Prime Minister, Sir Joseph Ward, with regard to the introduction of an improved, system of book-keep-ing for county councils. Mr. H. M. Campbell, M-P-, said the present systems were different all over the country, and tKeir suggestion was that Sir Joseph should allow a member of the Audit Department and a member of the Public Works Department to confer with the county clerk, Mr. A. H. Ferguson, with a view to evolving a scheme to meet the present requirements, and to submit it to the Prime Minister for approval. Sir Joseph said he agreed that facilities should be provided to enable a report to be made on an improved scheme suitable for all county councils.
