The Power Board's proposal to raise a loan of £10,500 was carried by 275 votes to 52. Te Awamutu.— Mayoralty: C. G. Downes, 418; C. Montefiore, 221. Te Aroha.—Mayoralty: R. Coulter, 673 (re-elected): .1. C. Carroll, 388. Pacroa. —Mayoraily: Mr. W. Marshall returned unopposed. Council: The following were elected: P. E. Brenan, E. Edwards, F. 15. Flatt, H. W. Hare, J. W. Silcock, 11. 11. Bray, W. E. Ward, H. M. Shaud.
A poll on the half-holiday question was held at Paeroa and resulted in Thursday being declared the half-holiday by 20 votes, the voting being: Tuesday, 2; Wednesday, 14; Thursday, 35 f; Friday, 1; Saturday, 331.
