ONE CHANGE IN CITY.
SUCCESS OF DR. GUNSON.
MR. G. KNIGHT LOSES SEAT.
CHAIRMAN AGAIN TOPS POLL. The only chango in the city's representation of five on the Auckland Hospital Board was the return of Dr. E. B. Gunsoti, who displaced a retiring member in Mr. G. Knight. The four other retiring members, Mr. W. Wallace, chairman, Mr. M. J. Savage, M.P., Mrs. E. A. Kidd and Mr. J. Dempsey retained their seats, Mr. Wallace repeating his performance of 1927 by heading the poll. There were 15 candidates for the five vacancies. Details of the voting are:—

Holt . . . . - . 3862 There is a return to come from New Lynn. Mr. W. K. Howitt, representing tho four North Shore boroughs, and Mr. A. S. M. Laing, representing tho Rodney, Waitemata, and Great Barrier Island Counties, Helensvillo and Warkworth, have been re-elected unopposed. Three seats on tho board have yet to be filled. A representative lias to be appointed for tho road districts in the Eden County, and the One Tree Hill and Mount Roskill Road Boards have decided to nominate Mr. S. J. Harbutt. Provided that the Mount Wellington Road Board, the other body interested, agrees to nominate Mr. Harbutt, he will bo elected. A contest for two remaining seats will take place on May 8. A representative is required for the combined district of Manukau County, Otahuhu Borough and the Papakura, Manurewa, Papatoetoe and Howick town districts. Nominations have been received from Mr. C. R. Petrie and the Rev. W. C. Wood. Mr. J. D. Chalmers, tho sitting member, and Mr. C. A. 11. Tapper will contest the seat for the combined district of Franklin County, Pukekohe Borough and the Waiuku and Tuakau town districts.
