INCREASE IN ACTIVITIES. w The annual meeting of the Auckland 'branch of the Society for the Protection / of Women and Children was held in St. Paul's parish hall last evening, Mr. A. -;. J. Strctford. presiding. Tho report of the committee stated that it was considered the conditions in the .city during tho past 12 months had been . responsible for. a considerable increase in "the work of'the society.
