HARBOUR BOARD SEATS.
JEN CITY CANDIDATES.
CONTESTS IN THE COUNTRY. The city's representation on the Auckland Harbour Board comprises four members. These and six others are offering themselves for the ensuing term. The following are the names of the candidates, the sitting members being indicated by an asterisk:— *T, Bloodworth. G. L. Bret t. \V. JCasey. A. E. Glover. *G. R. Hutchinson. *E. W. Inder. *J. B. Johnston. J. R. Lundon. J. B. Paterson. W. A. Thompson. There will also be contests in some of the suburban and rural constituencies. The candidates in those cases are as follows: Combined district of Franklin arid Manukau Counties (one required).—Ebenezer Allan, H. E. Mackenzie (sitting). Combined district of Devonport, Takapuna, Birkenhead and Northcote Boroughs (one required).—A. E. Greenslade, J. Hislop (sitting). Combined district of the boroughs of Onehung-n and Newmarket, Ellerslie town district, and One Tree Hill, Mount Wellington and Panmuro road districts (one required).—G. A. McKendrick, M. H. Wynyard (sifting). Combined district of the boroughs of Hamilton, Cambridge, Te Awamutu and Ngaruawahia (one required).—ll. J. Reid, S. S. Saulbrey, S. B. Sims, J. E. Tidd. The late representative was Mr. G. Parr, whose death recently occurred.

Laing (combined district of the Waitemata County and the Mount lloskill road district). A newcomer to the board will be Mr. E. Aldridge, who has been appointed Gov- ' eminent representative in succession to the Hon. E. W. Alison, M.L.C, Messrs. W. F. ]\rcCallum and C. G. Macindoe (elected hy navers of dues on ships), and I\Jr. F. A. Hellaby (elected by pavers of dues other, than dues on ships) have been returned unopposed. WA ITEM ATA POWER BOARD. NEW ALLOTMENT OF SEATS. MANY CANDIDATES OFFER. The new basis of representation on the Waitemata Power Board allots three repre. sentatives to Devonport, two to Takapuna, one to Northcote, one to Birkenhead, one to New Lynn, one to the combined district of Henderson, Helensville and Glen Ederf, and three to the Waitemata County Council. Sir. A. E. Greenslade has been returned unopposed as the Northcote representative, but elections will be necessary at Devonport, Takapuna, Birkenhead and New Lynn. In the case of the Waitemata County, where seven candidates are standing, the election will not take place until May 8, while Mr. W." R. P. Leighton will hold office as the Henderson-Helens-ville-Glen Eden representative until September, 1931. ONE TREE lIILL BOAKD.
CONTEST FOR THREE SEATS. Seven nominations have been received for three vacancies on the One Tree Hill Road Board. The candidates are:—Messrs. R. G. Clark, K. Aimer (sitting members), I. J. Goldstein, E. J. Roseirwn, T. H. Rowe, T. Whitehead and J. Wo» s * Electors should note that polling hours are advertised as being between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m.
There will also be polling for the election of a member to the Auckland Harbour Board, One Tree Hill forming part of a combined district. In this case the polling hours are advertised as being between 9 a.m. and 7 p.in The polling places are:—Board's office, 456, Manukau Road; Methodist Church Hall, Greenwood's Corner; St. George's Church Hall, Penrose; Cohvill Chambers, 11, Swanson Street, city.
