MAYOR INSTALLED.
CEREMONY AT NORTHCOTE! The Mayor of Northcote, Mr. A. E. Greenslade, ' who was .reelected unopposed, was installed by the deputyMr. H, Weaver, last evening. Mr. Greenslade was congratulated on his unopposed re-election. Mr. Greenslade said he had been , associated during his term with a " good team" as councillors, and he saw no real need for an election. The leading features of the policy were the keeping of the total rates, including water, to a maximum of nmepence in the pound on the unimproved value, and the placing before the ratepayers of loan proposals for an extension of the concrete paving along Lake and Onewa Roads.H.e hoped no departure from either of these - main planks of policy would be' made by the incoming council. The Mayor \yj.s subsequently entertained by the members of th& retiring council, and eulogistic references were made to his capable administration of th© borough's affairs during tho past two years.
