ACCIDENTS TO WORKERS.
FALL OF IRON RODS.
YOUNG MAN'S SEVERE BLOW.
Injuries to the shoulder were sustained by a labourer, Albert Alexander Annan, who was working on a building for the Fletcher Construction Company in Nikau Street, Eden Terrace, yesterday morning. He received a severe blow from a bundle of iron rods which fell from a floor above him, one of them entering his body, while others fell between his shirt-front and
his body. He was conveyed to the Auckland Hospital by the St. John Ambulance. Last evening lie was described as being comfortable. Mr. Annail IS 27 yC3IS Oi ago and married. He resides at 11, Cobden Street, Newton. A waterside worker, Mr. James Campbell, aged 65, of Millais Street, Grey Lynn, employed in unloading the American steamer Golden Cross at the Central Wharf, was struck on the leg yesterday afternoon while moving beams which formed part of the ship s timber cargo, nnd he received a compound fracture of the left leg. He was taken to hospital by the St. John Ambulance, but he is not in a serious condition.
A fractured leg was sustained by an employee of the Otahuhu railway workshops, Mr. Harold Clark, in the course of his work yesterday afternoon. He was admitted, to hospital but his condition is satisfactory. Ho is a single man, aged 25, and lives in Arcadia Road, Epsom. A seaman on the steamer Golden Cross, Otto Erlbaeb, was struck by a motorcycle in Quay Street early yesterday afternoon. He was taken to hospital and detained for examination.
