PAKURANGA HUNT CLUB.

Tho Pakuranga Hunt Club opened for tho season on Saturday with a large gathering oi members and friends. Tho weather was pleasant and tho country looked very fresh and green in the bright sunshine. The hunt breakfast was served in tho East Tamaki Hall, which was attractively arranged with autumn flowers. Their Excellencies tho Governor-General and Lady Alice Fcrgusson wero present, but left early for an engagement elsewhere. Quito a featuro of the gathering was tho largo number of young riders—boys and girls— who followed the hunt on their ponies ami thoroughly enjoyed tho run. Among tho members and visitors present were:—Mrs. Bullock-Webster and Miss Webster, Mrs. Lloyd. Mrs. W. E. S. Thomas, Mrs! Waller, Mrs. Colbock, Mrs. 11. M. Marler. Mrs. F. Brown (Denmark), Mrs. W. McLaughlin, Miss Smith, Miss Dunnet, Miss R Waller, Miss Jocelyn Bloomfiold. Miss Hunter Miss Ethrio Lloyd. Mrs. 11. G. Garland, Miss Colbeck, Miss Marjorie Sutor. Mrs M. Johnson, Miss Wilson, Miss M Upton, Miss Martin, Misses Shirley and Aubrey Garland, Miss M. Davidson. Misses P. and D. Weston.

Warm appreciation of the action of the farmers in opening their fields to tho hunt was expressed by Mr. Bullock-Webster, throe cheers being called for them, finishing with the singing of "For They aro Jolly Good Fellows."
