SHEEPOWNERS FINED.
BREACHES OF REGULATIONS. Officials of the Department, of Agriculture arc active against neglect bt sheep by llockowners in North Auckland. At tho Warkworth Magistrate's Court on Wednesday four farmers, who bad offered lico-infodod sheep for sale, at Wellsford, and two who had done the same at Tahekcroa, were prosecuted by Mr C. E. Stuart, inspector of slock, under section 50 of tho Stock Act, 1908. All the defendants pleaded guilty. Mr. J. A. Lux ford, S.M., in fining them £.l each, said the penalties would have boon heavier if the prosecutions had not been tho first of their kind in tho district. Future offenders would bo dealt with more severely.
