LADIES' GOLF CLUB. "Wednesday was the opening day of the ladies" goiT at St. Andrews. The weather was ideal, and the large number of people who were out at the links spent an enjoyable day. The president, Mrs. Meats, made a ehort speech and drove the first ball. Ihe competition Canadian foursomes over 12 1 holes was won by Mrs. Dinglo and Miss Rimmer, the trophies being presented by the president. All members were the guests of the club to afternoon tea. Chittenden, of Auckland, lias been spending a few days in To Awamutu. Miss F. Peacocke has returned from Hawke's Rav, where she has been on holiday.
