QUEEN CARNIVAL DANCE.
The queen carnival, which is being held to raise funds for the Auckland Football Association was advanced a further stage last evening when the Y.M.C.A. Club held a dance for its queen, Miss Mavis Boss. Svmondsville Cabaret, in which the dance was held, was delightfully decorated with loops of wistaria-shaded streamers and Chinese lanterns through which the lights glowed in subdued tones. Among those who were present were: Miss Mavis Ross, who wore a frock of red and black figured crepe do chine; Miss F. Coyte, amethyst panne velvet banded with georgette; Miss B. Strickett, ivory floral ninon; Miss Murdock, orchid-mauve accordeon-pleated crepe de chine; Miss Ross, rose georgette embroidered in autumn tones: Miss Bailey, silver lame with draped skirt edged with pink georgette; Mrs. \V. Thompson, black georgette and lace; Miss B. Greene, nattier blue ring velvet; Miss Vivian Boles, leaf green georgette embroidered with silver heads; Miss R. Ay res, white embossed georgette; Miss M. Shenkin, rose georgette and gold lace; Miss R. Pinson, jade green crepe de chine and hem of gold lace; "Miss Smith, floral georgette; Miss Thorp, ivory georgette; Miss Phillips, orange crepe de chine; Miss Mitchell, cerise, crepe fleuri with godets of gold lace; Miss M. Ward, white crepe de chine: Miss Ivy Thomas, flesh pink taffeta with frilled skirt; Miss Serle. roso ninon; Miss A. Munro, black satin; Miss Symons, terra cotta satin with skirt of georgette; Miss Mclntyre, black satin and ninon; Miss 11. McDonald, white crepe de chine; Miss E. Martin, shell pink chiffon; Miss Everitt, almond green georgette; Miss Raker, beige lace with amber-shaded sash; 'Miss Owens, lilac georgetto and silver lace; Miss McKenzie, lacquer red chiffon velvet : Miss Reynolds, white crepe de chine and silver lace hem.
