MEDICAL EXAMINATIONS.

SUCCESS OF THE SCHEME. United Service. LONDON. Nov. '25. Mr. Meredith Atkinson, literary secretary of tho New Health Society, recommends people who feel well to see a doctor. He outlined to-day the latest plans of the society for a national campaign to prevent disease by regular medical examination.

Tho New York Extension of Life Institute successfully inaugura f ed the idea, and it has aided the insurance companies. One company claims that the scheme, which was adopted in 1914, has resulted iu a decline of 18 per cent, in the death rate of its policy-holders Another company records a decrease of 23 per cent. Three British insurance companies now include periodical medical examinations as a privilego for their policy-holders. The plan has proved sufficiently successful to warrant its continuance.
