TAKAPUNA JOCKEY CLUB.

SPRING MEETING. The heavy rain that fell overnight and early yesterday morning had it moat beneficial effect on the Takapuna Jockey Club's course, and altogether tho situation has been greatly relieved at the North Shore by the downpour. The victory registered by Lisipon at To Kuili renders that horse ineligible for tho Takaptina Plate, and with Speechless. Glenn Bay and Maurineim withdrawn, the field id no.w reduced to 30. There id reason to believe that several other horses will be withdrawn, and should anticipations in that respect ba fulfilled, such will obviate the necessity of running the race in two divisions.

The committee of the Takapuna Jockey Club has decided to appoint a recall starter, who will, in tho event of s. false start, be in an approved position to signal the riders that the start is a false one. Should a false start occur, tho starter from the starting-stand, will hold aloft a red flag, which action will indicate to the recall starter that the etarfc is a false one, and the recall starter will then wave his recall flag, which will indicate that the horses are to pull up and return to the starting barrier. RERAN DIG APS AN NOUNCED. The following rehandicaps for the Tnkapuna Jockey Club's niectin;; at Takapuna on Friday were declared ycsterd<y: Liaison. 7st. 6lb. in the Borough Handicap, and Transformer, 7st.
