INTOXICATED MOTORIST.
CANCELLATION OF LICENCE, HINT OF LARGER FINES. To have his licence cancelled for 12 months was part of tho punishment inflicted on John Heffennan, a saddler, who admitted in tho I'olico Court yesterday a charge of having been in a state of intoxication while in charge of a motorcar in North Street. .Ho was also fined £25, default being fixed at two months' imprisonment. It was stated accused had backed his car in an erratic manner and this had attracted attention.
"Wo shall have to increase these fines if this sort of thing goes on," said tho magistrate, Mr, F. K. Hunt, in fining accused.
