METHODIST GATHERING.
NEW THEOLOGICAL COLLEGE.
A farewell social was held at Dunholnie, the present Methodist Theological College, on Saturday afternoon to mark the removal to 1 lie new Trinity Collcgo in Grafton Iload. Among those present was Mr. A. C. Caughey, through whoso generosity the church was able, to secure Duuholmo 17 years ago at a low rental, and who was largely responsible foi; the building of the new college. r lhn Key. W. K. Elliott congratulated tlio college upon the success achieved, and the Rev. IT. T>. Fiebig, .1 former student, gave a number of reminiscences. Mr. J. 'lyler spoke on behalf of lay officers of the church.
Tlio principal of the college, Dr. C. 11. Laws, dealt with the history of theological training in the Methodist Church in New Zealand since 1876. Although Grafton Road would be much more suitable for its nearness to the university, all would regret leaving t!i» pleasant surroundings ami happy memories of Dunholmc.
Dr. 11. Hanston spoke and Mr. Marsden Cuughey replied on behalf of his father. Tho llev. A. Mitchell expressed the appreciation of tho guests of the afternoon. Part songs and choruses were contributed by the students.
