OAMARU MAN'S BEQUEST.

A pleasant surprise awaited Mr. Clutha Mackenzie, director of the Jubilco Institute for the Blind, Auckland, on the occasion of the visit of tho Blind Boys' Band to Oamaru this evening. The Mayor, Mr. Frank Crawshaw, announced a bequest of £2300 to the Jubilco Institute for tho Blind. A labouring man, known as " Tiger " Hall, of Herbert, whoso death occurred recently, had accumulated a fortune of £13,000. In his will he left £2OOO each to the Salvation Army, Barnado Homes, Oamaru Hospital. Jubilee Institute for tho Blind, and the Otepopo Church. The bequests with interest now represent £2300, and the Mayor's announcement to-night took Mr. Mackenzie completely by surprise.
