THE HARBOUR BRIDGE.
Sir,—lt is generally admitted that soiT.a time a bridge over the harbour will bo a necessity. One group of the thinking public say it is wanted now. But if the Government of the near future consider*' differently then why not let private enterprise go ahead with it, like the Auckland city trams, with stipulations where, with the City Council could become pos-'; scssed when desired ? Where would any progressive country be to-day except for private enterprise? The want of it is keeping this country poor. The, benefits are obvious without relating. W.L.B.
