HENDERSON BUS SERVICE.
Sir,—l am sure most people who use tlm Auckland-llenderson buses will heartily agree with what "Viator" has said in regard to return fares lasting for day of issue only. One would think that' the (,'it.y' Council deliberately tried to dissuade (ho general public from using the buses. I have occasion to travel daily from Henderson (o Glen Eden. Previous to the council taking over the buses the company issued to us a weekly concession ticket at 2s 3d. However, when the council bought out the G.O.C. Company we were informed that this was not now available and, further, that even return tickets would not be issued between these two districts.' At the rate of paying for single tickets each day the cost would then have been 6s weekly, as compared with the train at 2s 3d weekly. On making inquiries we found that a concession ticket i.4 issued between distrists of the same sections as between Henderson and Glen' Eden nearer to Auckland ; so why is this discrimination made for the outlying ones?. Needless to say, we find it much more profitable to patronise the trains. Service.
