POWER IN COUNTRY.
TAURANGA LOAN PROPOSALS. POLL NEXT SATURDAY. [BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] TAURANGA, Wednesday. Two loan proposals, ono for £20,000 and tho other for £SOOO, will bo submitted to tho ratepayers of the Tauranga Electric Power Board's district on Saturday. CENTRAL BOARD'S AREA. EXTENSIONS AT WAKREXGA. [BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] HAMILTON, Wednesday. The Central Electric Power Board met to-day, Mr. T. Hinton presiding. The engineer's report stated that a number of extensions had been made on the Original lines at Waerenga, in oidc to link up new consumers. Practically all tho householders in tho Rotowaro township had signed up for lighting installation, making 40 additional consumers. On account of the growing load it tho Hopuhopu military camp an 11,000 volt extension lino was being constructed. About a-quartcr of a mile of tho wiring had been completed and the transformer had been moved nearer tho load centre of tho camp. A good deal of interruption to power had occurred during tho month on account of thunderstorms and high winds. The maintenance men bad been k-ipt very busy .md about 150 cases had been attended to.
