QUEENSLAND DAMAGE. LARGE AREA BURNT OUT. MILES OF COUNTRY ABLAZE. (Received October 10, 7.5 p.m.) BRISBANE. Oct. 10. Bush fires are sweeping over tho main Toowooinba range. An area of 1000 acres was burnt out last night. Tho flames are spreading to a menacing degree. At Spring Bluff tho railway station and tho settlement are tho centre of a fierce conflagration. The country is ablaze for miles alongside the railway line.
